Salem, OR – A Sherwood man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of his partner, whose body was discovered outside their home early on December 13.
At around 4:40 a.m., deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive woman found near the road outside a residence in the 20500 block of Southwest Edy Road. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed that the woman, later identified as 64-year-old Mary McDowell, was deceased at the scene. She was found outside the home where she had lived.
McDowell’s partner, 38-year-old Jose Lucase Morfin Jr., was taken into custody at the scene. Law enforcement did not immediately release further details about the circumstances surrounding her death, but Morfin has been charged with manslaughter in connection to the incident.
