Portland Woman Arrested in Connection with November Shooting Death Near Turner, Oregon

Portland, OR – A Portland woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old woman near Turner, Oregon, in November. The arrest, made on February 25, 2025, comes after an investigation into the death of Jada Thompson, whose body was discovered on November 2, 2024, outside of Turner.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call on the morning of November 2 after a body was found in the 4700 block of Delaney Road SE, a rural area just south of Salem. Upon arrival, authorities identified the deceased as Jada Thompson, a Portland resident. Investigators have confirmed that Thompson and the suspect were known to each other, though details regarding their relationship have not been disclosed.

The arrest of the 32-year-old woman was made with the assistance of the Gresham Police Department’s K-9 team and the U.S. Marshals Service. The suspect was booked into the Marion County Jail and is facing charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon, both classified as domestic violence offenses. She is scheduled for arraignment in the Marion County Circuit Court on February 26, 2025.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has not provided additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding Thompson’s death. However, officials expressed condolences to the victim’s family and assured the public that the investigation remains ongoing.
