Man Killed in Shooting at Northeast Portland Fred Meyer

Portland, Ore. — A man is dead following a shooting at a Fred Meyer store in Northeast Portland on Monday afternoon. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, which they have described as “suspicious.”

Portland police responded to reports of a robbery and shooting near the store, located in the 7000 block of NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, just before 4 p.m. Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim lying in the parking lot. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he was later pronounced dead.

The police have not released the identity of the deceased man, and no further details about the incident have been disclosed. Investigators are working to determine the events leading up to the shooting.
