Salem, OR – Students from Salem’s Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) are preparing for the opportunity of a lifetime after a successful showing at a statewide cooking and restaurant management competition held on Monday. Their impressive performance earned them a spot in the upcoming national competition, set to take place in May.

The event, which was a fast-paced, high-energy contest, tested participants on their culinary skills, creativity, and ability to manage a restaurant in a high-pressure environment. CTEC students showcased their expertise in both cooking and restaurant management, impressing judges with their ability to handle everything from meal preparation to customer service in real-world scenarios.

“We’re incredibly proud of the students for their dedication and hard work,” said one of the CTEC instructors. “The competition is fierce, but our students rose to the challenge, demonstrating not only their cooking skills but also their ability to work as a team and manage complex tasks under pressure.”

The competition brought together top culinary students from across the state, all eager to prove their talents. Salem’s students stood out not only for their technical abilities but also for their innovative approach to restaurant management.
