Salem Man Arrested for Posing as Teen to Meet Young Girls Online

Salem, OR – A 24-year-old man was arrested on December 31 after authorities said he used social media to pose as a teenager and meet young girls. Jeramey Lee Braman was taken into custody following an investigation that began when detectives received a report about his online activities.

According to the Salem Police Department, Braman was using platforms like Snapchat and Instagram under various usernames, including “lil J,” “jbraman0,” and “yaboylilj,” to contact teenage girls. He allegedly misrepresented himself as a minor to establish connections with the victims. As a result of the investigation, Braman faces several serious charges, including nine counts of second-degree sex abuse, third-degree rape, and third-degree sodomy.

The police are continuing their investigation and believe that there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. Authorities are urging anyone who has had similar experiences with Braman or who possesses any relevant information to contact Detective Cort Kirksey at the Salem Police Department at 503-540-2418.

The case has raised concerns about online safety, especially for teenagers on social media platforms. Police officials have reiterated the importance of monitoring online interactions and being cautious about sharing personal information with strangers.

As the investigation progresses, Salem police remain committed to identifying all potential victims and bringing justice to those affected by Braman’s alleged actions.
