Gresham Police Seek Public’s Help in Fatal Hit-and-Run Case

Gresham, OR — Authorities in Gresham are continuing their search for the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run that took place early on December 7, near NW Burnside Road and NE Cleveland Avenue.

The victim, 50-year-old Ryan Winchester, was struck by a vehicle while crossing Burnside shortly after midnight. Despite the severity of the collision, the driver did not stop to offer assistance or check on Winchester. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

In an effort to solve the case, Gresham Police have released photos and a video of the vehicle believed to be involved. According to authorities, the suspect’s vehicle is described as a small gray hatchback. Police are urging anyone who might have seen something suspicious in the area or has information about the car or its driver to come forward.

“This tragic incident has left a family grieving, and we are committed to finding the person responsible for this senseless act,” said Gresham Police spokesperson Officer Sarah Meyer. “We are hoping that the public can assist in identifying the vehicle or provide any other helpful details.”

Investigators are focusing their efforts on piecing together evidence from the scene and the released footage in hopes of tracking down the driver. The hit-and-run occurred during a quiet period of the night, which has made it challenging for investigators to find additional witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gresham Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
